M.S. DHONI: THE UNTOLD STORY (2016)

Here comes, one of my most awaited movies of this year. This movie, took years in making. Waiting since, day one, from when it was announced, as being a big “Cricket” fan also MS Dhoni fan.

Yet, it  didn’t disappoint. This movie is just brilliant. Director Neeraj Pandey is one the greatest directors working today, also one of my favourites, has done some real good filmmaking. His first movie “A Wednesday” itself was a masterpiece, after that “Special 26” and “Baby”, and now this. I may not be the first to say this, he still has yet not made a “GOOD” film, he has made “GREAT” films.

This movie is 3 hour long, but it never feels so, it gets a little slow sometimes at the love story thing, but not for whole lot while, it keeps running fast.

Performances: First of all the main limelight of the movie itself, Sushant Singh Rajput, gives his best performance till date, tough his career in movies have just began. He truly captures MS DHONI, weather it is by looks, language, even his style of batting. Anupam Kher is awesome in the movie, as he is in most of the movies. Kiara Advani, she plays the wife of MS DHONI, and as a new actress she was good inaf.

As, I said before I am a big cricket fan, and for sure, this movie gave me goosebumps at point, If you have seen the trailer, you know which scene I’m talking about.

This movie, opened up a lot of things which I knew about MS DHONI, but there were only few of them which I didn’t knew, they should have gone in more detail, in MS DHONI’s career, as the tittle suggests “THE UNTOLD STORY”. But, still it captured his life from childhood to 2011 ICC WORLD CUP well.That’s what it had to do, and couldn’t do it any better.

The way they showed the matches in the film was fabulous. One issue, I found with the movie is that they didn’t showed any form of friendship with the other players. They should have showed something about his relationship/friendship with other players, specially Yuvraj Singh etc.

Writing is fabulous in the movie. This is a must watch, even if you are not a cricket fan, or neither MS DHONI fan. Even if you’re not a movie lover, you could watch it as a form of entertainment. You, definitely should give this movie a watch. I highly recommend it.

As, I said for my PINK REVIEW, Bollywood finally is changing, and again this movie is for sure one of my favourites of this year,

 probably in top 5. I would definitely watch this movie again this weekend or later.

PINK (2016)

Yes, I am not the first guy, to review this movie, not even in  reviewed at the release of it's week. (REASON: EXAMS :/) 

I didn't plan to review this movie, cause I was late, but when I saw the film, I tought of giving my verdict on the film, cause, it is not a regular bollywood movies with songs and all.

This is one the most darkest movies in bollywood, I have seen in recent time. The last, movie which I remember being to dark and dull was my favourite Indian director's Ugly (2013). This movie is extremely well directed, and written. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury , the director of the film, did justice to the movie. That, is what I call clever direction, not showing what happened, but later opening it on court sessions.

The editing, is by far one the best in bollywood, of this century. I would say the direction, as well as editing after the first half, is superb. We dont see, much after the first half, only thing we see are the court sessions. I started to get so much information by the court sessions, It was so clear, to understand it. 

"Court Sessions" are breathtaking at some point, especially during the end. Now, I come to the performances, the all three girls, understood the character well, and performed accordingly. But, my main focus stayed with the legend, who have done three films this year, All 3 I loved (Wazir, Te3n, and now Pink). Amitabh Bachchan I'm talking about who else! He is just almost flawless in the film.

The only issue, I had with this movie was maybe the pacing, but I understand, as the movie being dull, and on such a topic. Other issue was the acting of the boys(Angad Bedi, Vijay Varma etc..), they seemed to overact at times. Other then that it is a very satisfying movie. 

This is for sure one of my favourites of this year, (Only In Bollywood). This has been a good year for bollywood movies. From Aligarh to Raman Raghav 2.0, and now this. Still, there are great movies to come, and the most awaited from now onwards of mine would be MS:DHONI & Dangal.

Would love to see, like this movie and others I named, in bollywood. I have had inaf, of bollywood's love stories, this is what I would love Bollywood to create.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN (2016)

So, When I first heard they are remaking the "The Magnificent Seven" which was also a remake of the great film " Seven Samurai"  , I said why? Why a remake of a remake?

But, when I heard there are great actors in this movie like, from Denzel Washington to the latest actor, whose recent movies like "Jurassic World" and "Gardians Of The Galaxy" I roughly enjoyed, Chris Pratt also Ethan Hawke. It was sigh of relief to know that this movie, was gonna have good actors.

First of all, If you have seen the previous movie and also Seven Samurai, then you know the story of the film. 

The director of the film Antonie Fuqua has impressed me by his last years boxing drama "Southpaw". His filmography is good, and I have enjoyed his other movies like "Shooter" and "Training Day". He keeps changing the genre, he dosen't stick to one genre and making films of that only, he exactly did that with this one, he a western with alot of fun.

This movie is fun, right from the first scene, I had a great time with it, Now dont go to movie thinking it could match-up its original, no its not even close, This movie knew what it is, and it did well. It didn't wanted to be a masterpiece. What they did with this movie is make it entertaining. 

Some of you maybe disappointed because of it not living up to the hype, Well, If you are looking for fun and entertainment of 130 minutes then you would like it. If you are thinking, Okay, we gonna get a dark dull western NOPE! You ani't gonna get that.

This movie is not even the level of latest westerns like "The Hateful Eight" and "Django Unchained" (By, the way I didnt like it, DJANGO). The performances in the film are top notch. Washington, is just superb. He is one of the reasons this movie was great. Other actors, like Hawke and Sarsgard were good as well.

Well, it is rated PG-13, well it is for sure one of the most violent PG-13 movie. Anyway, overall, I had a good time with the movie, Hopefully you would too, Yeah, it is worth checking out. So, surely watch it.
